FAQ

Questions teams ask before switching.

Can I use Bookio for sales calls instead of Calendly?

Technically yes — set up a service called 'Sales call' with a 30-minute duration, no price, and one staff member (you). But Calendly's link-paste workflow into emails is purpose-built for that flow and Bookio's strength is multi-staff service shops. For pure sales scheduling, Calendly is the better fit.

Does Bookio support round-robin scheduling?

Not as a first-class feature. Bookio's model is that a service is performed by a specific staff member (or any available staff for that service). If you need true round-robin (book the next available rep, skip those over-booked), Calendly Teams or Chili Piper.

How does Stripe deposits work in Bookio?

On each service you can set a deposit (e.g., 50% of price upfront) or full prepayment. When a customer books, Bookio creates a Stripe Checkout session; the slot is held until payment succeeds. Failed payment within 15 minutes frees the slot back to availability. Connect your Stripe account once during signup.

Can customers really book via ChatGPT?

Yes. Every Bookio tenant is registered with the whatcanido MCP server. A customer using Claude or ChatGPT (with the whatcanido MCP server configured) can say 'book me a haircut at Aurora Hair Studio tomorrow morning'. The agent calls ask_availability to get free slots, then book_slot to confirm. The booking appears on your Bookio calendar with source='agent:chatgpt.com'.

Can I migrate from Calendly?

Calendly exports bookings and event types as CSV. Bookio imports services and historical bookings during signup. The event-type → service mapping is one-to-one; staff members and availability windows transfer cleanly. Calendly-specific features (round-robin, collective events) don't have equivalents and would need to be re-modelled as Bookio services.
